Join the HHES PTA
Our PTA is growing strong this year! Thank you to the 46+ families and staff members who have joined so far, and the 15 people who attended our first meeting.
If you join before October 1st, you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card. CLICK HERE: JOIN THE PTA!
Membership is $10 per household for the year. Your $10 membership fee provides $4 to the school to use toward PTA sponsored events for the year; the remaining $6 covers the PTA's state and national fees.
If you cannot donate $10, that will NOT prevent you from being able to attend PTA events, including our meetings. Your voice and your engagement matter equally. We believe in the gifts of time, treasure, and talent, so if treasure is a little lean right now, perhaps you can offer time and talent that is of equal and greater value!
Not sure how you fit into the work? Most of us weren't at first, but we are in this together!
Our PTA meets to plan events and get input from families and staff on the second Thursday of every month at 6 PM in the school library.
In September, the PTA (1) ratified new bylaws for the year, (2) shared information about their current account balances, (3) celebrated achievements from last school year, and (4) started planning school family events for both October and November. Lastly, we offered an in person completion of the BCPS Volunteer Training and application process. If you missed that, don't worry, you can still work with Mrs. Bryan to get volunteer approved to support a variety of school events, including chaperoning field trips this year.
The previously elected Vice President had to step down this summer; the family moved out of our attendance area. We wish them well in their new home and school! If you are interested in being considered as the VP on the PTA Board, reach out to Ms. McIntosh, our PTA President, for more information.
Spirit Days in September
September is Attendance Awareness Month in BCPS. We have been rockin' it in the first week of school! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Join us each Friday in September for Spirit Days to keep the energy going.

Learn with Me Schedule
We don't celebrate education one day during a week. We celebrate learning ALL YEAR at HHES!
In the 26-27 school year, we have planned a year FULL of Learn with Me activities and workshops for parents and caregivers to come to Harford Hills. In addition to these events, each grade level and teacher will share opportunities for parents to support learning. (If you are hoping to come help with an activity, as opposed to coming in to observe or participate in an adult workshop, get volunteer approved NOW!)
Stay tuned for topics and information so that you can decide which opportunities are relevant to you and your little learners, but pencil us in now! We can wait to learn with YOU!
